Get to Know Our Excellent Photographer Patricia Schimpf
Patricia Schimpf grew up in Hancock, Maine with her mother. She moved to Mount Desert Island after graduating high school in 2006, and bought a house there in 2015. She has had an array of jobs in the area, including food service, landscaping, home care, and veterinary medicine. Tricia has worked 11 years as a sternman on various commercial lobster fishing boats. That is where she cultivated her lifelong passion for photography, and developed an extensive and unique portfolio.
Tricia is trained in boxing and self defense, as well as instructing women’s classes. She is an amateur singer, and swears she will learn how to play her guitar someday. In April 2021, she competed in her first ever beauty pageant, and was awarded the crown and title of Miss Maine for America Strong. She sold her house that fall, and now resides in Lincoln, Maine with her Alaskan Malamute, Fritz.
